Total Crash using Acronis 10 Free Trial All data unretrievable

Thread needs solution

* I posess Acronis True Image 9.0 but have not installed on this pc.
* I downloaded free trial of Acronis 10 and proceeded to create image of hard drive
onto external 620 GB HD.
* At the very end of the imaging I got an error message "Error - Back up not completed"
* Immediately the computer crashed - nothing left on the hard drive totally wiped.
* Windows Vista now re-installed plus progrrammes but no longer have a partioned drive.
* I am deeply concerned because all my really important files are now locked into a .tib file
on my external hard drive which I cannot retrieve.
* I obviously cannot use the Trial version because that was also wiped off my computer.
* I am reluctant to install my copy of Acronis 9 because of compatibility issues with Vista
* I do NOT want my external HD to crash whilst trying to recover files
* I DO want to be able to retrieve data from .tib files
Any answers please?

Hello,

I do want to assist you and ensure you get the help available. The main problem is that most probably the image has been created improperly and its' integrity is in question. I am not sure that you can get the access to the archive because of the archive corruption. Nevertheless, I am sending the installation file for Acronis True Image Home 2010 via Private Messages, please install the program and try to extract the necessary files (I assume that you used Acronis True image Home 2010, not Acronis True Image 10.0 Home).

You can try recovering files and folders from image archives (see chapter 10.4.2. of the User Guide for Acronis True Image Home 2010 available here). Also please try to mount the archive or explore it (please see chapter 17).

It will be also useful to copy the archive to your internal hard drive, this will help to avoid the possible issues in mounting the USB drive.

Please let us know the results. Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.
