UBMR issue Restoring

Thread needs solution

We are using Univeral Bare metal Restore. We are trying to restore a server using Universal Bare metal Recovery. The restore goes fine with out any error until you restart. We get the error message 0x0000007b.

The image we are restoring is not corrupt because we can restore it to another machine without raid with any issues. We tried using updated drivers for the server we are using. same issue.

Any help would be appricated.

Hello Michael Pinkos,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to assist you.

The error message 0x0000007b, is a typical indication of a lack of mass storage drivers after recovery with Acronis Universal Restore. Please make sure that the drivers you use are in this format: *.inf, *.sys or *.oem. You can also use this guide that shows every stop for restoring with Acronis Universal Restore. If you are still having issues, please submit a support request with the following information:

1. Perform the restoration again, after it completes, go to View Log -> Save all to file and save logs to an external/flash drive or to a network share.

2. Get a screenshot of BSOD content (0x0000007b)

3. Get a capture of Windows registry both from source and target systems:

Please do the following to take Windows registry from the target system (that is, the system to which the image was restored):

 - Boot the computer under consideration from the Bootable CD.

- Create files/folders backup of \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file

- Send us the created *.tib file

Please do the following to take Windows registry from the source system (there are two ways to do this):

- You can perform the same exact steps described above for capturing registry from target system and send us the *.tib file

- Or since the source system registry is already backed up as a part of a full hard disk drive or partition backup, you can simply restore \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file from the image and send us the restored files/folders.

So, we need two Windows registry exports: from source system and from target system.

4. Acronis System Report from the restored machine.

If you require additional information or assistance, please let me know.

Thank you.
