Unable to complete the backup process, pls help.

Thread needs solution

Just receive this Home 2009 edition from amazon today and experienced at least two failures already.

First the PC hang after Home 2009 (PC Backup & Recovery) installed.  The PC is running XP professional SP3.   So I moved on to install this on my laptop (XP professional SP3, too).   Installation went smoothly.  So I started to backup my entire hard disk to my NAS, this is the main reason I chose Acronis over gHost which I have been using (ghost 2003).   After spending almost three hours waiting, the backup file size was about 30G and the entire process was about to finish, I got this message:  operation failed.  I could be wrong about the exact wording but the image was NOT created.

I did another try on a firewire external hard disk but met with the same result.  Can anyone help me out on this?  Let me know if you need additional information.   Thanks very much.

Hello Jeffrey,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image Home 2009 (#9796). You can check it navigating mouse cursor to upper line of the program then press ALT + left mouse button -> Help -> About

If the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.

See if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please set Backup priority to High and decrease Network connection speed in Default backup options (Tools -> Options -> Default backup options -> Backup performance).

If this doesn't help, please provide us with the log file of the failed operation:

- Launch the program;
- Tasks and logs, Log;
- Choose the log entry which contains errors and make right-click on it;
- Select save option and specify the desired location for the log file to save to;
- Attach the log file to the next post.

Thank you.
