Unable to connect to Acronis Agent with MS SQL Server Management Console

Thread needs solution

I am trying it out with SQL Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003 SP2 but the management console could not connect to the agent with "Connect to Remote Computer".

It says:
E000807D4: Unable to connect to computer 'localhost'
Network connection refused.

The management console and agents are both successfully installed, and "Acronis Remote Agent" is started. Telnet localhost 9876 works, so it should not be a firewall problem.

Hello Christopher Cheng,

Thank you very much for your post. I am very sorry for the delay but I will definitely assist you.

There is a number of reasons why the management console fails to connect to the remote agent. I would recommend checking out the solution part from the following Knowledge Base articles and kindly let me know if you continue to experience issues.

- Acronis Management Console Cannot Connect to Remote Components

- Acronis Recovery for Microsoft Exchange or Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server: Acronis Management Console Errors Out with "Access to computer is denied."

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I had an issue very similar to this and after uninstalling/reinstalling I was unable to connect the SQL management console to the remore SQL server. Reading the instructions provided by Anton, I found the last item worked for me which was to connect with clearing credentials box checked. I didn't need to do all of the other things; the credential clearing did the trick for me.
