Unable to open and recover Image- file!
Hi to all,
I am very afraid to loose many days of hard work. Therefore I would like to ask you for some help because the problem which came up can be solved - I am convinced!
I have just built up a new system with new hard- and software. My system (Windows 7, 64-bit) is installed on a Kingston SSDnow V-series 64 GB whereas the rest of all data sets are stored on a Samsung 1000 GB harddisk. Everything went very well, including Backup and Disk- recovery.
The backups were stored on the Samsung, which I had devided into two partitions, the bigger one (D:\) for all data sets and the smaller one (E:\) just for the images of TI.
Just when I was going to save all my work and made the final Backup on E:\ TI Home 2010 informed me that there is not enough space. So I tried to enlarge E:\ with a partition manager and thereby made an Update of the MBR (don't ask me why)!
Since then, TI is unable to recover any of my images! When I start the Recovering- task, the PC reboots into the recovering- status but Instead of recovering I get the information that TI is unable to open the image- file! This happens with all of my images - older and newer- ones! On the other hand, TI is still capable, to mount these images and to show the content! Here you can see the mounted image of the SSD- Drive when still everything worked fine. Picture 1 shows the mounted C:\ partition with all files and Picture 2 shows a no-named 100 MB- part of the drive which has someting to do with booting- issues.
I am very convinced that the unability of TI to open image- files at Recovery has someting to do with booting-issues and the MBR! The reason for this assumtion is the following:
When I go and start a Backup of the whole SSD, I get this (Picture_3) information and the Backup will be done flawlessly after some minutes! But when I go and want to recover the *same* image- file I get this (Picture_4) information. Suddenly, there is a new MBR- indicator in the field and I think this is my problem - which I don't know how to solve!
So please, can somebody give me some help?
Thanks in advance
Martin
