Universal Restore not working

Thread needs solution

I am trying to backup an important server at our location and restore it a new server with different hardware to basically make a backup. The server has tons of configured software so i bought acronis so it would be easy to do this. I created a backup using the boot cd (server echo with universal restore.) I go to the new machine and do a restore from the boot cd. I choose universal restore, point it to the Raid driver (bios raid perc 6/i) and restore tha data which it says is successful. It then reboots and as soon as it gets to the windows 2003 screen it blue screens. I called the technical service but the can't seem to figure it out. The new server I am going to is a dell power edge r710. Any ideas?

Matt did you ever get any help with this. I am about to venture down the same path but with the tower version of the 710. Also Dell offers the newer RAID hardware PERC u700, which I cannot find out if it is included in the latest Acronis build. No answer from Acronis in 3 days.

Did you try to boot into safe mode?

Hello Matt Hussey,

Thank you very much for your post. I am sorry for not replying earlier but I will definitely help you.

I have checked your existing support requests and from what I could see, you were able to resolve the issue by using one of our custom bootable CDs based on ISOLINUX?

UDaMan,

I believe we have a case open on this specific hardware issue and our Expert team told me that we do in fact support this type of hardware.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
