Upgrading RAID 0 drives

Thread needs solution

I recently purchased 2 Samsung 7200 RPM 640 GB 32 MB cache drives to replace my current 250 GB models for my laptops RAID 0.
What I would like to do is use some backup software to create an image of the disk on an external eSATA 2TB drive. Then I would remove the old drives and install the new drives and use the Nvidia raid manager to create a new RAID 0 disk.
Do I have to format the disk afterwards? Do I create a bootable recovery disk with the Acronis software and "recover" the backed up image from the external drive? Would I have to install Windows first, install the Acronis software then recover the image?

Any help would be appreciated, but I need to know these things before I invest in software.

System:

Alienware M17x R1
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate SP1

Yes. You can test your scenario using the trial version - install the trial version (works for 30 days), make the bootable media (trial version can't backup but can restore), back up to the external disk, install new disks for raid and configure them, boot from bootable media, recover.

That is exactly the info I was looking for excellent, thank you. :)

If the trial goes as planned, I'll purchase the full version.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but this worked perfectly without hitches and was quick. I love your software.

I'm wanting to do the same thing. I have two SSDs in a RAID 0 and want to upgrade to larger drives. Please provide detailed steps and what I need to do to accomplish this. Please be specific. Thanks
