Using workstation version on Windows 2000 Server

Thread needs solution

Can I install on 2000 Server and then use it to get backups off other machines (i.e. win 2000 workstation) which have the agent installed?

If so, what modules can I install on 2000 Server?

It seems at the moment, if I try to install on Windows 2000 Server it doesnt accept the license key. If I try to install the modules separately some work without a key but some give 'incorrect key' error.

Seems strange that it doesnt give a more appropriate error like wrong OS?

That means that you bought a or many workstation licence(s) correct?

Then of course the licence can only be used for backup agent running on workstation. On the Server you can install the central management node, central storage node + licence server + management console but not the backup agent itself. This will run on each workstation and can be managed by the management console running on the server.

Thanks for the info.

Still think the message displayed if you try to install in incorrectly could be a bit better...
