Validating - why not only the last backup?
I backup strategy is one full backup per week and two incremental backups per day with validation of the last backup after each full and incremental backup.
As example one machine has the following sizes:
Full, size of saved data 7.23 GB, original size 7.23 GB, space needed on harddisk 5.546 GB
Incremental, 6.537 GB, 7.238 GB, 879.9 MB
Incremental, 2.089 GB, 7.485 GB, 1.078 GB
Incremental, 1.552 GB, 7.495 GB, 640.2 MB
and so on ....
When the incremental backups are validated, nearly 11 GB are validated. Why are not only the for example 640.2 MB are validated?

But when the previous backups are already validated, in my opinion there's no reason to validate them again.

Hello all,
Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 allows to select either to validate the entire archive or the latest backup in the archive. Validation of a file backup imitates recovery of all files from the backup to a dummy destination. Validation of a volume backup calculates a checksum for every data block saved in the backup. Validation of the archive will validate all the archive’s backups and may take a long time and a lot of system resources.
You can edit the current task (or create a new one) specifying the appropriate setting at the What to validate box.
Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
