VMWARE converter "The source parameters are invalid."

Thread needs solution

Hello all,

I want to convert a .TIB file to an exsi server.

Im using the following software:
* Acronis Backup & Recovery 11
* VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client 4.3.0

VMware Convert gives the the message: "The source parameters are invalid.", when I select the .TIB file.

Have you any solution? Do I use the right software?

Regards

Hello Erik
I recently attempted the same thing, converting the .TIB files made by B&R11 to virtual machines. Needless to say it did not work out, as the converter apparently does not support B&R11 tib files. Here is a link to the vmware forums that should give you a few ideas:
http://communities.vmware.com/message/1607548#1607548

and from the standalone converter 4.3 manual:
"[Supported] Third-party virtual machines or system images: Acronis True Image Echo 9.1, 9.5, and Acronis True Image 10 and 11 (Home product) (.tib)."
These aren't the same as the B&R tib files. The version 5 converter does not support B&R tibs either.

Good luck!
