Hello,
Actaully, i use ABR 11 advance to backup industrial PC. I have 70 clients across the network.
My backup are configured to use VSS option (Supplier system).
My PCs doesn't have database software, when the backup pass some applications, files are used.
Sometime, some backup failed due to a VSS issue.

If I turn off the VSS option, I have a risk to obtain a bad image of my PCs ?
Which is the interest of VSS option when we don't use a database like Oracle, Sql Server ?

Kb (for ABR10 , but in version 11 it's essentially the same) - http://kb.acronis.com/content/29014 ) states that if you have applications that rely on VSS (databases, including Active Directory on a domain controller), it's ok to backup without it. Otherwise you may troubleshoot VSS failures - e.g. if some of VSS writers fail, their state can be obtained with 'vssadmin list writers' command, ; Or use 'acronis vss provider' instead of 'system' one.
