What goes where and in which order?

Thread needs solution

Hi Forum,
I am a little confused with how to install ABR 10 Server for Windows and ABR 10 Advanced Workstation.
I have 1 Server running 2003 and 7 Workstations (6 x XP, 1 x Win7). I want to administer all from the server. In which order do I install which components? Do I need to install the management server and license sever on my server? And how do I remove True Image 9.1 License Server? (Trying to unistall it from Software just won't work!)

Regards.... Nick

Hello Nick!

Thank you for your questions, and please accept our apologies for the confusion caused. I entirely understand your questions and will be glad to help you.

In order to manage all the processes from one server, you need to

  1. Run the installation file
  2. Install the License Server (it can be installed over the License Server of 9.1 version safely, but if you are concerned about it, you can remove it with the help of Add and Remove Programs tool)
  3. Add the upgrade licenses and the licenses of the previous version to the License Server. Please, note that the keys of the previous versions is a requirement, without it the upgrade keys won't work.
  4. Run the installation file till you reach the page with a choice: a) Install the managed machine components (Agents), b) Install the centralized managed machine components (Management Server and Storage node), c) Install all components. Choose to install the Centralized Managed Machine Components.
  5. Check all the components as shown on the screenshot. Management Console is required for managing al the processes; Management Server will allow you to manage the groups of machines, applying tasks, etc. Please find more information in the respective User's Guide available here.
  6. After installation of these components is completed, you can run the Management Console and choose to install the Agents onto the machines you need to backup.

I would advise you to take a look at the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation User's Guide for more details - it contacts the instructions on every action available in the product.

I would appreciate if you could kindly let me know whether this information answers all your questions. Should you have any additional concerns - do not hesitate to post it here at your earliest convenience, we will definitely help you!

Thank you!
