What is "Reboot Required" when attempting a restore?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm running ABR 11 build 11.0..17437 on Win 7x64.

When I restore, I boot via a USB stick then start the restore. When restoring my Windows C: drive using the DISK restore o ption, 9.9 times out of 10, I get a "Reboot required."

If I reboot, I go back through the same selections again and the same error. So it is an endless loop! So what does "Reboot required" mean and what is it supposed to do when the PC reboots? It certainly doesn't work for me.

There are 3 volumes on my Disk, so my current workaround is to restore by volume and that works. However, I'd like to have the restore by Disk option working so that I restore the entire disk and not just one volume at a time.

Thanks!

Normally it shouldn't prompt for reboot when already is in bootable media. There is a bug when it asks for reboot when restoring a MBR on a dynamic disk when running a WinPE-based media, but I assume it's not the case.
Does it prompt for reboot if you restore all three volumes and MBR? Is the behavior different if you boot from a bootable media on CD instead of USB stick?

The same thing has happened when I used a CD in the past, but very rarely and when it did, I recall that the reboot worked. I stopped using CD as a boot a long time ago due to speed (i.e., USB stick is faster).

I haven't done all 3 + MBR, so I don't know. I've just been using that workaround I mentioned.

My disk setup is 2 HDDs, RAID0.

Thanks.
