Will my ABR11 License work with ABR10 software?

Does anyone know if this will work? I dont have the time to troubleshoot why ABR11 fails to work. ABR10 worked right out of the box on one of my servers and I want to use it for all my servers.

ABR11 keys will not be usable with the ABR10 product, however what you can do is perform a “Downgrade” which will generate you ABR10 keys that you can use!

Do this by logging into your account, viewing your registered products, expanding them to see the details (if they are collapsed) and you should see the downgrade option... follow the prompts and you should have new ABR10 keys assigned to your account and ready for use.

If you do run into any issues best option is to use the Live Chat support feature as you can connect directly to someone and get them to look into your account and sort out any issues (if required).

P.S. if you have having issues with ABR11 the main issue people are having at the moment is related to creating snapshots (VSS)... The way to fix this is edit your job’s backup options and set the VSS to ‘Software – System Provider’ that should fix that issue and allow you to get backups until the automated VSS selection process is fixed for some that have run into this issue.

If you downgrade from ABR11 to ABR10, do you loose your ABR11 license, or can you keep both?

Hi Victor, you can keep both from what I understand but you can only use either ABR10 or ABR11 (not both at the same time)

I just wanted to correct the last statement: you can use the granular upgrade to ABR11, this means that some components can be from ABR11, and some - from ABR 11. Please find more details and instructions in this KB article.
