I am logged on under my own account. I am a member of the following groups Administrators, Backup Operators, Home Users, And I've added the group Acronis Remote Users. I don't see what else I can do at this time.

Are you logged onto ABR10 as local machine?

Yes.  This is the default action when you start up B&R Workstation.  I have also tried logging off and back on as local machine and get the same result.

Hello Steve,

Thank you for using  Acronis Corporate Products

Please note that Windows 7 is not officially supported, and the proper functionality is not guaranteed.

Nevertheless,

Please make sure that __acro_subst_user__ account and the account used for running Acronis Managed Machine Service (Acronis Agent User by default) have Log on as a service security right.

- Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy;

- Browse down to Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> and find Log on as a service policy;

- Double click on this policy and click on Add User or Group;

- Click Advanced;

- Click on Locations and make sure your local machine is selected as the location to look for the users;

- Click OK, then click Find now and select the users from the list (you can use Ctrl-left-mouse-click to select several users at once):

__acro_subst_user__

Acronis Agent User

or any alternative administrator user which is selected for running Acronis Managed Machine Service, e.g. Administrator

- Click OK several times to finish applying the policy.

Thank you.

I always have to question, this close to a release of a new OS... Such as Windows 7 - Why software companies feel the need to hide behind official releases.   When a bug exsists, simply state it is an issue with the release.   I am testing your product in a Windows 7 environment and I too am having this issue.  I realize a company of your maturity and year in the market can not possibly be releasing a relatively new product and not be prepared for the eventual support of an impending major OS release.

I have attempted your suggested solution with unsucessful results.  I have chosen to post under my personal account, instead of my business.  Regardless, my purchase decisions are not as black and white.   I hope your support rationale is not either...

I am not running a Beta product and I am working with the full market release (OEM) and hope that a resolution can be found prior to the retail release.

Thank you,

Matt

Try to use the latest build.... 11105 .. i hope this can solve the problem you are facing....  :P

Hello,

I've got the same problem, still ocurring after having followed Steve's advice on the machine which I'm trying to backup.
Build is 10.0.11133, fully licenced.
I'm trying to do the job remotely. I didn't have the problem with Machines running Vista, XP and 2000.

Edit: I didn't have the problem before, using the trial licence on the same machine.

i put my trial copy on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. Like the others i got code 9,764,927 when i tried to start backup on the win 7 machine as the local machine.
i see Oleg Lee of Acronis came up with a solution.
I would like to follow it but lack knowledge of how to do it on a win 7 machine.
He says to to start / control panel / admn tools / local security policy / local polices / user rights assignments etc etc

I have to admit i do not understand how to do this on a win 7 machine!! help please!!

Rosemary,

What version of Windows 7 do you have - Home or Pro/Ultimate?

Which bit of the instructions are you having a problem with? How to assign the user rights, or earlier how to find Control Panel?
