Windows 7 - Strange Behavior ???
Hi all.
Installed Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 on a worksatation running Windows XP.
Setup a normal backup to backup the entire C: (i.e. partition image) to a Terabyte external drive that is attached to another computer on the network that is running Windows 7.
I noticed that the *.tib file that is created is split into three files. I have worked with Acronis for years but have not seen this behavior before. Usually, just a single *.tib file is created. Is it a Windows 7 thing?
I did a mock restore and it seems that the three *.tib files actually form a restorable backup. Even so, I would far prefer it if only the one *.tib file was created.
While I am here, just one more unrelated question. Is it possible to keep a certain number of normal backups before they are overwritten, say maybe 3 (a bit like the Windows SBS Server 2003 Backup feature).
Its seems that the only choices are to either have just the one backup that overwrites previous backups or an unlimted amount of backups that are never deleted. Personally, I am looking for something in between.
I suppose I will have to create some sort of batch file to run along side the backup job but I was looking for an easier way.
My thanks in advance.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion.
I will check to see if it is fat32.
Any thoughts about creating a certain number of full backups (such as 3). Most of the time 1 is not enough but 365 per year would also be overkill.
My thanks in advance.
