Sorry guys but I am new to the forum and I am almost positive this question has been asked and answered before. I searched through page 14 with no luck and my forum searches didn't produce an answer either so I figured I would bug the experts here. I am currently running XP Pro and am seriously considering upgrading to Vista or even Seven. After a complete system restore, and if I am using Windows Seven or Vista, will I need to go through MS OS validation process or will the timeline on the OS just pick up where it left off? Normally, there isn't a problem with Windows activation (it's not usually necessary after a restore). If you restore to a different (new) drive, then Windows may require it due to the hardware change. However, it shouldn't have a problem reactivating if it's still running on the same computer.
