Acronis Backup for VMware Agent (build 9.0.10007) Folder Exclusion

Thread needs solution

Can someone tell me if they had success to exclude a folder and subfolder and if yes what is the exact procedure

IM using the vmware acronis agent

Ive tried this and nothing work

D:\Database\
D:\Database\*.*
D:/Database/*

The VM is a Windows 2012

Im using ESXi, 5.5.0, 2068190

Iv tried on a VM version 8 and 10

Hi Patrick,

The proper format for files-folders exclusions would be D:\Database\* . You can check whether it works or not by opening the File Recovery wizard - the folder should be present in the folders tree, but the contents of it must be empty as the result.

If it doesn't work then it makes sense to check the backup log from this attempt in order to figure out what might be going wrong. Do you use NTFS deduplication feature or storage spaces feature on your Win2k12 system? It might be the root cause here (some combination of these features).

I found this in the logs

Virtual machine 'VIREXCH2K13' does not support source files exclusion.

VM Tools was not up to date

Let me update this and i will try again and let you know
