Acronis VM Protect 6 generates EventID 15 on servers

Thread needs solution

Good morning,

We have here a couple of servers running MS Windows SBS2008 and we use Acronis VMProtect with them.

Now as far as we can see the backups are running fine except when they start, they have to backup to a remote network drive which Acronis has to mount to access it. Apparently Windows does not like that and when the mounting bit happens it generates EventID 15's for a couple of minutes.

I've been googling alot and reading on this forum but nobody seems to have the issue or has noticed it at all.

My question is simple, since the backups just run normal and are accessible can i just ignore the Eventid's or is it something i should worry about.

Regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Forum.

You can ignore this EventID, the backups will not be affected. However, if you would like to investigate this issue please let me know the following:

1. Does the same issue occur with vmProtect 7?

2. If it does, please let us know the following:

  • How is vmProtect agent installed? We will need an AcronisInfo report if it is a Windows agent, or these logs it is an appliance
  • Windows event logs
  • What type of network share, Windows or NAS

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
