Acronis vmProtect appliance graceful shutdown from vCenter?
I am running the vmProtect appliance under ESXi 5 and need to gracefully shut it down as part of a host shutdown (I am setting up a UPS for the host).
I am a bit confused by how it is supposed to work. "Shut down guest" is shown as an option from the VM but does not seem to work, nothing happens.
In other appliances I have installed this seems to work OK even without vmware tools installed in the appliance, but not for vmProtect.
I have also noted the following error events about failing start up and shut down scripts in vcenter logs for the vmprotect appliance, see attachment.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello Mats, Hello dsp01,
Thanks for posting this question in our forum.
The reason for this message is the operating system that is running the Virtual Appliance. Our Virtual Appliance is using a Linux live system, as you know it from Linux live cd. Therefore, you cannot install the VMware Tools inside the Virtual Appliance.
Because of these circumstances, you will receive these errors. The only way to prevent from these errors is to shut down the Virtual Appliance manually before shutting down the ESX host.
If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.
Thank you.

Anyone could have easily missed. I also tried this once and got the same error. Thanks for clarifying this though.
