Backup Job Running For A Month?

Thread needs solution

I have VMProtect 7 and see "old" backup jobs that are "stuck" in vSphere... how can I kill those jobs without having to power off/on either the VM or vCenter itself?

The issue is the servers that have these jobs freeze every day as the current backup seems to be bumping into the old jobs.

Hi Michael,

The tasks you see in vSphere client are in fact just GUI presentation of the tasks running on vmProtect agent itself. This means that the backup tasks in reality might have finished already (which I assume is true taking into account the time). This might have happened due to loss of connection between the vCenter and the vmProtect Agent so that it couldn't update the tasks statuses. These tasks in vSphere client appear only when you enable the vCenter Integration option under Configure->ESXi hosts tab in web console. The only way to get rid of them in vCenter is unfortunately to reboot the vCenter itself. To avoid this issue it would be better to first of all upgrade vmProtect to 8th version or alternatively you can disable the vCenter Integration option.

The freeze of the servers issue is unrelated to the tasks you see in vSphere client, so it should be investigated separately. Can you please clarify when exactly the freeze occurs? Does it happen during snapshot creation/removal stage? Also getting the logs (View->Show Logs->Save All To File) from these backup tasks would be really helpful to understand what could be the problem.

Thank you.
