Backup to network location unavailable

Thread needs solution

After having set up a scheduled task to backup a single VM running on a vSphere 5.x, the task ran several times according to schedule successfully.
The day before yesterday, the network location became temporarily unavailable and the backup failed.
We restored it.
However after having restored it, the task kept failing, requesting credentials.
After re-entering the credentials, the scheduled task proceeded normaly.
Message: Awaiting task 'CreateSnapshot' has failed. Reason: An error
occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's
event log for details..
The message appeared, but it's totally misleading the backup administrator.
This behaviour was also present in previous versions of ABR10, but was resolved later.
Did it come back with vmProtect?

Hello Pantelis,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you.

We will need additional information about this error, could you get back to me with an event log please? You can check this post for details.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

I am testing and using a NAS to backup. I had rebooted the NAs and the Acronis appliance had the same issue you were having. I rebooted the NAS again \ then rebooted the acronis appliance \ then re-established the credentials and I was back up and running.

Hope that helps.

Good thing this was a happy ending for you vwemil. I'm kind on of the same boat here like you.
