Can't have Windows NFS-client/server installed with vmProtect 7

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I was going to install vmProtect 7 on my Windows Server 2008 R2 but I got an error message that first port 2049 was in use and that Acronis NFS couldn't be installed, then that port 111 was in use and that Acronis Portmap couldn't be installed. I had the Windows NFS-client/server installed and that's why it wouldn't install so I uninstalled it.

The vmProtect 7 installed fine after that but I have a Linux-server where I need to put my backups and I share it with NFS. I can't install NFS on the server again because Acronis is using some ports and from what I've seen it isn't possible to only install the client-software of NFS as both client and server are in the same role/package.

I've also tried something like this: "nfs://192.168.128.1/mnt/backups" for the backup location but it doesn't work. So my question is, how the hell do I put my backups on a NFS share? And why is vmProtect using NFS ports if NFS isn't supported?

Thanks,

Apparently the NFS-client is still working and I can mount it as a networkdrive on the server but I can't see it when choosing location for a backup job..
How do I backup stuff to a NFS share? Do I HAVE to use Samba? I prefer Not to use Samba..

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your posts.

Currently Acronis vmProtect 7 does not support NFS shares. We appreciate your feedback and I will forward your comments to our Customer Listening System.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.
