CHKDSK/Bluescreen After restores
I have been testing restores of SingleFile backups with a few restore points.
Some of the VM's I have restored so far run chkdsk upon startup then bluescreen with BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO, upon restarting they run chkdsk, perform lots of orphan/index/file actions then bluescreen with BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO again and get stuck in a bluescreen loop
I can't determine what is different about the machines I am having this issue with, it happens with with Server 2003 and 2008, all machine are hardware revision 7 on 4.1U1 Hosts, same version VMWare Tools
I will keep trying to narrow it down further

ok, well the inconsistency of the restores and the lack of forum support here has killed my interest in completing a lab test of this product

Rowan,
I don't know the answer to your question, but have you checked in your account to see if you still have support coverage, if you do (mine is 3 months) I'd raise a support ticket.

Hi Colin,
I am currently trialing the product, so no support ticket, this forum appears to be only support mechanism and this vmProtect6 topic doesn't seem to have much Acronis Support happening in it.
All my VM Backups complete successfully and validate, but the issue I am having is with the restores, sometimes the NIC is preserved, sometimes not. Sometime the machine starts with a chkdisk after a restore sometimes not, sometimes it starts windows error recovery, sometimes it starts with errors relating to the registry hive being corrupt. All my VMs have the VMWare tools VSS Component installed and I haven't found any relevant errors on the event logs when the snapshot is taken.
I will continue to troubleshoot myself for now as I love the Acronis Interface, the speed of the backups and restores is great, and I love being able to create a single file archive servername.tib for each VM that contains all incrementals.
There is no way I am going to get purchase approval until I can prove consistency of restores though

Hi Anton,
Thanks for the reply
Where you say "Please check this article if you need additional help with the support wizard." in your comment above, were you supposed to link to an article?
I have looked through the general Acronis Support sites, but after choosing contact support, the drop down box to choose a a product for support doesn't work for me (using google chrome) I will retry with IE9

Hey everyone! I also had the same problem with my VM backups bluescreening and random chkdsk's upon booting up or windows registry hive errors after logging in. Right now i deleted all of my backups and started from scratch. I currently have backed up 2 out of the 4 servers I have running. I attempted to run the servers from backup again and......success!!! At least for now! I am waiting for the two other servers to complete a full backup. I will keep everyone posted! I also remebered I wasnt "unmounting & saving" the VM's running from backup before, I was just "unmounting" them.

So what happened here if I may ask Ryan, how were you able to resolve this?
