Copied backups to second location are encrypted

Thread needs solution

I'm noticing that when I use the setting copy backup to a second location that backups at the second location show up as encrypted and require a password. I can see that the second location backups are both encrypted and password protected. The main backup task does not have encryption or a password setup so I'm not sure why the second location is showing up that way. I've tried a few passwords but no luck. Is this the default behavior for copied backups?

Hi,

The behavior you experience is unexpected one - the password settings must be identical for both primary and secondary location, unless you specified some _existing_ backup archive in the 2nd destination which has different encryption settings than it is set in the backup options. It makes sense to localize the issue by first of all trying to create a new backup task, specify the archive in the 1st location as primary one (ensure that it is not password protected by checking corresponding backup option) and specify a new archive name for the 2nd location. If the problem still persists then it likely has to deal with the specifics of the 2nd destination which needs to be further investigated with our support team.

Thank you.
