Copy jobs always fail with a message about the task already running

Thread needs solution

I have several backup jobs that are supposed to copy the backup to a second location after completing, however they all fail stating that the copy job is already running. I know this is not the case as I have powered the appliance off for up to 24 hours and then restarted the just the copy job immediately after powering the appliance back on. The Task panel clearly shows the job as IDLE and FAILED but any attempt to run the job immediately fails with a message stating it is already going.

Anyone else seen this issue, or have an idea?

Hi,

Such behavior can be observed if "/var/lib/Acronis/Scheduler/tasks/user1/X/X.tsk" contains improper "State" value (not 0 which means that task is considered to be running) recorded for some of the tasks. In other words it is a problem with the scheduling records for the particular task(s). The quick workaround is to re-create the task from the scratch. If you can send me a copy of /var/lib/Acronis/ folder (packed in .zip) captured as described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/36100 article in troubleshooting section then I should be able to analyze the proble more thoroughly. NOTE: /var/lib/Acronis/vmProtect is not enough, i.e. I'll need the entire /var/lib/Acronis/ folder contents.

Thank you.

I tried to add the attachment here, but it is too big to put here, max size says 20 MB, the zip is 32MB. There were 2 jobs with a State of 2 instead of 0

Hi!

Thank you for the update. I believe it would be easier if you can send me the entire .ovf of the problematic Acronis Backup appliance, so that I can check it and advise. I will send you a private message with FTP link where you can upload the .ovf (or .ova) in a couple of minutes.

Thank you.
