Does trial license cannot download bootable media builder?

Thread needs solution

Dear Sir/Madam,

I registered a vmProtect8 with a trial license, I'd like to try to clone a baremetal ESXi 5.0.
When the backup image is done, it ask me to download bootable media builder.
However, I cannot find the media builder.
I think the download link should appear at "My Products & Downloads"; but there's no media builder tab to let me get the link.
So, does trial license cannot download bootable media builder?

Hello reed yeh,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum.

The bootable media is not available in the trial version of vmProtect 8, you can take a look at this article for additional information.

If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know.

Thank you.

If Acronis vmProtect Media Builder is not available for a trial of VMprotect then how do you know if it works?

It's easier to do a 'restore' from a vmProtect appliance, so getting ESXi setup and installing the agent should be all that's needed. The Media Builder is if you are doing a V2P type restore.

Hi everyone,

The bootable media is used for P2V (creation of backup from physical machine) and for ESXi bare-metal recovery which are relatively rare operations and thus they are not included into trial package by default (plus this was done intentionally to avoid abuse usage of the trial version). If you need to test specifically this functionality you should contact our Support Team (http://www.acronis.com/support ) who will provide you with further steps.

Thank you.
