Email Notifications - Display Success/Fail in Subject?
Hi There,
I am lab testing vmProtect6 at the moment using the Windows Service, it is working great.
I was just wondering if it is possible to insert variables into the subject line for a backup task to display the status of the job. I am creating a task for each VM with it's own archive so I can use a wildcard in a script to then move the desired VM's Archive to removable media i.e. VMNAME*.tib. (We go SAN->OnsiteDisk->RemovableDisk)
It would be nice to display the status in the subject line so I don't have to open 30-40 emails every morning to verify the success of the backups.

Hi Anton,
I did see the configuration option regarding when to send the notification, however we would prefer to receive notification of either fails or success, otherwise you may be assuming your backup was successful as you didn't receive an email and it could actually because of a problem with the email.
This is only a minor issue for us, but I look forward to this functionality being added.
Thanks

Hi,
When will this function be added?
We are currently at vmProtect8 and I still have to open the email to see if the status is failed or success...a hell of a job with dozens of emails being received daily.
Please please add this simple function of displaying backup status in the email subject.

Hi Teun,
In Acronis vmProtect 8 the status of the task execution is already mentioned in the subject of the e-mail notification. Here are examples of subjects which I've got with 8184 build:
Task 'Back up to 'Network' (2)' has failed on machine 'MachineName'.
Task 'Back up to 'Network' (2)' has succeeded on machine 'MachineName.
I assume that you have modified the "Subject" line in the e-mail notification settings which are applied to the backup task. In this case the subject of the e-mail will contain just the string that you have specified without additional parameters. You should leave the "Subject" field blank and save the backup task with new settings. Thus you will be able to filter out the notifications by subject with proper backup result in it.
Thank you.

Hi Vasily,
Thanks for your quick reply, I will see if this solves the issue.
If so then my bad for not reading the manual properly... ;)
Kind regards,
Teun

Vasily,
You were right, using empty subject line solves the problem. Thanks.
