To solve this issue we have to do the following:
1: Remove the ESX host.
Configure / Licenses / Hosts -> Revoke host Configure / ESX(i) Host / Remove host

2: Add the ESX host.
Configure / ESX(i) Host / Add New Host

After re-adding the ESX host we are able to complete a backup. How can we solve this issue?

Hi Joey,

It looks like the InstanceUUID value for the ESXi host is changed constantly which causes the problem (typically it is changed if there are changes in the host network configuration), however it needs to be investigated separately. Please submit a support request describing this issue. Remember to clarify the following within your support request:

1) Is the ID mentioned in the error the same each time you have the problem?
2) Is your ESXi host managed by vCenter or not?
3) Are there any host configuration changes done each day?
4) Capture the log files from View->Show Logs->Save All To File

Thank you.
