File Recovery - VMProtect 6.0

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I recently tried to recover a folder from a backup set created using VMProtect 6.0. I was able to download the files from the latest recovery point but upon checking , I was surprised to see that the latest version of the files that I was trying to recover was the one from the last FULL Backup which is over a month old. The backup task is running everyday and I'm assuming it creates an incremental backup of all files that were changed everyday. So why can't I see the latest version of my files?

Backup Configuration : Backup everyday
Retention Rules : Simple Cleanup Scheme
Create full backup if : backups are older than 1 month

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi!

The 6th version is quite an old one and there was a known GUI issue that by default there was wrong recovery point (not the latest one) selected on the File Recovery wizard page. Note that you can change the recovery point by clicking on it - likely that's the cause of the problem you run into.

P.S. it also makes sense to update to the most recent version of Acronis vmProtect (now its called Acronis Backup for VMware) - at least you can check the trial version and perform the required files recovery from your existing v.6 archives if the above instructions won't help.

Thank you.
