how to backup restore appliance configurations

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm running two VMprotect appliances for Vm backups. One of the appliance locked up while it was backing up and my vcenter server was crashed at the same time. I had to cool boot the appliance. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to connect to the appliance's web management console after the appliance rebooted. I can see from the VM console still showing the normal screen. For quick resolution, I would like to re-create a new appliance and transfer all my scheduled tasks over if possible. So, my question is:

Can I backup/retrieve my scheduled tasks from the corrupted appliance and restore the schedules to a new created appliance?

Thanks,
Aldous

Hi Aldous,

Yes, it is possible to manually move configuration from one corrupted appliance to a fresh one in most cases (unless the data disk of the appliance is completely lost). I've explained the procedure in details in the following thread:

Thank you.
