If i vMotion a machine to another datastore, do I have to recreate backup?

Thread needs solution

I just activated a new storage pool and want to move a few vm's over to it and basically re-balance our storage and spindle utilization.

If I do a storage vMotion from one datastore to another, will Acronis vmProtect still be able to back up this machine? Or would I have to delete the scheduled backup task and recreate it?

vmProtect 8.0.8184 connected to vcenter which manages 3 vmware esx 4.1 U3 hosts.

Hi KJSTech,

There is no need to re-create the task. The fact of datastore migration will not affect the existing backup tasks since they identify the VM by its instanceUUID property which is not changed during storage vMotion.

Thank you.
