New Issue: running out of memory

Thread needs solution

Hello,
we seem to be experiencing a new problem with vmprotect where the
server is running out of memory and crashing during backups.
this is a new problem within the last week or so.
Previously backups ran without issue every night for months
the server is an hp dl360 gen8 with 16gb of memory, I guess the question is
is this enough memory or should I be looking elsewhere to solve this ?

thanks

Hi DanW,

I'm assuming you are running Acronis Backup for VMware (former vmProtect) as a Windows Agent - in this case there was a problem in previous versions that the memory was consumed by growing backup logs (\ProgramData\Acronis\vmProtect\VMMS\LogEvents\). First of all I'd recommended to clear the log file from the web console: View->Show Logs->Clear Log and restart Acronis vmProtect Managed Machine Service after that.

If this doesn't help then please check which exact process is consuming memory (is it vmms.exe or may be agent.exe or vmprotectservice.exe) so that we can localize the problem.

Thank you.
