Problem replicating on Virtual Machine
I have one Virtual Machine that will not replicate, I have tried so many things, but keep ending up in an error, the error is as follows:
Failed to execute the replication operation.
Cannot replicate machine '500ED5F7-EAED-1C05-7080-B11C895F3797' to 'GHG-APP-02_vmpreplica'.
Cannot copy the machine.
Cannot copy the machine's disks.
Cannot open the disk.
Cannot prepare replica 'GHG-APP-02_vmpreplica' for writing.
Failed to call the function.
Failed to find registered virtual machine '52458589-1672-99f4-21c3-766cbe3ea9ac'.
I have;
- rebooted both the Acronis vmprotect appliance and the virtual machine in question.
- made sure there are no snapshots on the VM or disks attached to the appliance.
- recreated the replication job
- deleted the failed replication which ends up as 'invalid' on the replication ESXi server
- deleted the orphaned / leftover files in the datastore in question
- shutdown the vm, removed from inventory, re-registered the .vmx back into the inventory
- created a snapshot both quiesced and non-quiesced and tried the replication
Many other things that I have forgotten now, but the job always ends up with the same failure.
I have several other vms that are replicating fine, just this one that is being problematic.
I'm about out of ideas now, next I am going to shut it down, remove from inventory and place it on a different ESXi server.
