Restore files from Explorer

Thread needs solution

Hi

I work for a year with the product and i'am very happy with it but now I have an additional question. I find the perform of a restore is very awkward. For performing a complete VM restores it may well be feasible to initiate a restore via the web interface, but for a normal file restore, I find it more than awkward.

Is there a way to open tib files directly from the backup destination with a kind of plugin? I know other backup products which special for the view in Explorer installs plug-ins and the backup can be quite specific searches. A recovery happens using drag and drop.

If this option be available in newer version?

regards
Rico

Hi Rico,

The functionality you are referring to is available in Acronis Backup Advanced via "tishell" plugin extention which is installed along with desktop version of Acronis management console. We are planning to add the same functionality into Acronis Backup for VMware as well into the next version. Note that the plugin from the current version of Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5 won't work with backup archives created with Acronis Backup for VMware - this is what we're going to address too in the next version.

Thank you.
