Thread needs solution

Hi,

Is it possible to specify the order we backup the virtual machines in a VM Protect backup job ?

Best regards,

Hi,

It is not possible to define the order of VMs processing within a single task - we have this feature pending for the next version (ticket ID ABR-80483). Right now (in either Acronis Backup for VMware or Acronis Backup Advanced) technically the order of VMs processing within a single backup task is defined by InstanceUUID property of a VM in alphabetic order, so for example VM with InstanceUUID value of "0000-...." will be backed up before VM with InstanceUUID value of "0001-.... "

P.S. you can check the details on InstanceUUID properties in https://kb.acronis.com/content/36100 - see solution section (under cut) which describes how to check this value from vSphere for a particular VM.

Thank you.

Thank you Vasily.

We're waiting impatiently for the next version, especially for this tip and also for the Echange 2013 granular support ...

Rgards,

Hi,

As i can see it is still not implemented with VMProtect 9.0.10571.

Do you have a deadline for these two features to be implemented ?

Thanks.

Hi,

The support for Exchange 2013 (and 2016) granular recovery is pending to be released in the next version, i.e. Acronis Backup 12 which we will be running public Beta within the nearest several weeks. Order of VMs processing is planned for future updates in this version, though there is no particular date available for it yet, however the concept of backup plans management was changed to be resource-centric and each VM is treated as separate resource with its own backup schedule, so it might be that this feature will become obsolete.

Thank you.
