Ubuntu Test Restore - Error 805

Thread needs solution

Hi, I am evaluating vmProtect 8.0 on our ESXi 5.1 environment.

I noticed this in the logs, after doing a test restore of an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Virtual MAchine:

Error Code:805
Module: 29
LineInfo: 9a0add0c33a217ef
Fields:
Message: There is no device '/dev/sdb1' in mapping

The step immediately before in the log says "Processing /etc/fstab entries"
This Ubuntu machine does have a \dev\sdb1\ mounted as a drive, and this is a row in the fstab file.

The restore seemed to work fine however.

Any advice as to why this "error" was generated?

Thanks.

Hi SCX,

These messages are coming from the modules responsible for restoration of "bootability" of the system. There are changes made to the boot sector and partitions allignment to ensure that the system (Linux or Windows) is bootable. That message is a wrongly reported one which we plan to remove in future patches. It (as you correctly mentioned) does not affect the result of the recovery.

Thank you.
