Unable to connect to Acronis vmProtect 6.0 agent. Please verify the network connection.
I keep getting that error popping up when the program is open. It used to pop up while trying to login for the the first time then I finally got the program to load and now that message will pop up randomly. I have also never been able to add an ESXi server because that message pops up.
I'm sure I've got something configured wrong but I have no idea what it is.
I'm running the windows agent on a Win 7 x64 machine with all current patches, .net, etc.
Thanks,
Andy

Windows firewall is disabled on the machine and no other 3rd party, software firewalls are running. This would have nothing to do with the network firewall though right? I mean it's not trying to authenticate with Acronis servers or something?

I had exact same issue. Found it only happened with Internet Explorer. When using Firefox or Safari I do not get the message and everything works fine. So apparently there must be some kind of security issue with IE I suspect.

Just an update on this issue, I eventually gave up on the windows agent version of VMprotect and just installed the Esxi appliance version which seems to work.

Hi Andreas,
Can you please clarify which type of agent (virtual appliance or Windows agent) you are using? Also what is your Internet browser type/version? This error may come up when there is intermittent connection failure between the backup agent and the browser, so it may also be related to network issues. To localize the problem it makes sense to try running the Internet browser on some different machine or using alternative Internet browser.
Thank you.

I have this error often with Internet Explorer and clicking the retry link always works. I think it's just a security/caching issue in the browser. Once I added the Acronis appliance IP to the trusted sites and imported the certificate, it works fine every time now.
