Hello Adehis,

Thank you for posting! VM Protect 8 supports vSphere 5.1.0 version and we don’t expect any issues with the 5.1.0a version.

Adehis, please follow this link. In this article you will find all necessary information about environments which are supported by VM Protect 8. Please take a look to the following limitations at the bottom of the article.

If you have any other questions I will be glad to answer it!

Thank you fore your question!

Hello Elena,

Thank you for your quick answer.

I note that the ESX backup isn't actualy functional into 5.1.

Regards,

Hello Adehis,

Thank you for reply.

I think you mean ESXi configuration backup.

Backing up ESXi configuration on ESXi 5.1 is not supported.

This limitation will be removed with the next free update of Acronis vmProtect 8.

For more information about environments which supported by Acronis vmProtect 8 please follow this link

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

This is unfortunate. But anyways, how about this year? I mean are there other options that we can choose?

Hello Gavin,

we used 5.1.0 1021289 with Machine Version VMX-09 and Tools Version 9.0.1 build-913578 till Wednesday for over 2 Weeks. We had no problems with Acronis vmProtect.

Since Wednesday we did the the Update to 5.1.0U1 (5.1.0 1065491), which should be the most current available version at the moment, Machine Version VMX-09, and Tools Version 9.0.5 build-1065307, and everything is working like a treat.

But Ricardo had some Problems with a 5.1.0 Version - look here:
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/41524#comment-130058. But after he did an update too, everything was working fine again.

Regards

Peter
