vmProtect 7 will not back up SQL 2012 VM, error code 138
vmProtect 7 will not back up SQL 2012 VM, error code 138. The full error is below. The problem is specific to this VM. At the moment the VM has no customers on it and I am running testing on it. The VM is on vmware ESXI 4.1 update 1.
It was suggested I look for any shadow copy issues. The sqlserver writer is showing inconsistent state below.

-The VM is also unusual in that it has two RDM(raw device mapping) disks in physical mode, with a virtual disk for its system partition. The RDM disks will contain SQL data which is backed up to another server. If these are an issue, can they be excluded from the backup process?
Aside from that there are no ovious issues, and I would appreciate any suggestions for checks I can make.

Can you take a snapshot on the VM manually in vClient?
