vmprotect 9 networkless

Thread needs solution

hi,

I have two servers vmware esx 4 business connected to an HP san fc
I have a windows server connected to the network and even san that esx server via fc
I have a virtual center server connected to san and esx servers (fc+network)

If I want to save on the server hard disk backup, it passes through the network instead of backing up directly via FC. Is it necessary that the backup server uses the san as storage media for backup

Hi Thierry,

For proper LAN-free backup over SAN your SAN volumes (where datastores are located) must be connected to Windows machine where you have Acronis vmProtect Windows Agent installed. Note that these LUNs should not be mounted (i.e. there is no drive letter assigned to them). The backup archive can reside on any destination - it doesn't have to be necessarily the same SAN LUN (you can back up to local drives of this Windows machine).

If you still have difficulties setting this up please contact our support team for assistance.

Thank you.
