Web Console not fully loading
Hello,
yesterday during the backup it seems there was an networking error - we found vmprotect today with an error message about network connection problems. I thought nothing bad and tried to reconnect but all what i get was a blank screen with the title bar. But no Login Screen or anything else - even no error message (site not found etc.). So i restarted the appliance (more than 5 times) but i get no change. I cannot connect to the web console of the appliance anymore. Had this a few times before (also on other appliances from other clients) but it worked after a not too long period of time. This time it is after 5 hours now the same.
Anyone else got this strange issue ? IP is static and free. And Appliance worked flawlessly before.
Tried it also with different Browser and Machines.
Maybe one clue: Right now i recognized that the SSL Certificate is showing another IP (a PC within the DHCP Range and not the vmprotect Appliance) - but nothing has changed and the vmprotect Appliance has the same IP (manually) since months.
Regards,
Stefan

Hi,
I had similar issues with one appliance and nothing helped really. I ended reinstalling whole thing
and after that everything is working. It's just pain to redo all the backup jobs. It would be nice to have some
kind of recovery of appliance or export/import the scheduled backup tasks.
Now having same issues with another install of appliance..
Other vmprotect related issues Im having recently:
And another issue with another install, I changed password from web console and after that couldn't log in anymore.
Found KB article where advised to wipe root password from /etc/passwd , did that and now in web console can't set any
password cause it wont accept empty password for current password.
Having lot of issues with appliance recently.
Seems some snapshots were not deleted and ended up no space at vmware datastore, appliance log says snapshots deleted
but they were not!
Appliance needs lot of managing and looking after which it should not!

Had similar issue with the web console. Acronis reported memory issues and had locked up in VMware. I reset it and all was ok. Next night I have tried going into the web console and it wouldl not load up. IE Just gives can't load page. Same link that I have used many times before. It has a static IP which I 've changed and used DHCP and rebooted several times while doing this. Still no joy. (but the backups are running? and I can't tell if they have failed or not..) So as I haven't got a backup of this appliance!! I may have to reinstall. This no hardship but putting all the tasks back in will be as I start different backups at different times etc. If I could of exported my tasks out beforehand I could be importing them after an install.
BUT there may be a plan B. http://forum.acronis.com/forum/31226 Upgrade from 5144 to 5155. I will try this and see if I can upgrade my appliance hopefully fixing my web console and retaining my tasks
