Acronis 12.5 advanced cleanup plans

Thread needs solution

We have a factory full of Acronis backing up to network. These have to be manually backed up to insure we dont affect production and so I set cleanup plans to limit backup storage.

This has always worked great but my old computer got decommissioned and the transfer of cleanup recipes is 1 at a time so I recreated them all. I recreated probably 30 starage folders and working fine. This week I started programming more cleanups and everything normal until I realize it has hung up on a completion step where it says it is checking completion time. Hangs for ever. No more cleanups happen after that.

The only way I got it to resume is to kill mms and reboot computer and mms restarts. More cleanup plans ran until later they again stalled for same reason.

How can I resolve this so each cleanup runs at the schedule and doesnt hang up?

Hello Curtis!

If I understand correctly you basicly created a new AMS server which also stores the backups. You also configured the agent here to execute the cleanup.

Does it really hang though? Can you see that the cleanup did its job? Because there are cases where the visible progress doesn't reflect the truth and it may be correctly completed.

I'm also interested to know what sort of adverse effects do you expect if you had agents running on a schedule?

Yes it did hang. After it was hung up it wouldn't do any new cleanups until after I had to manually kill mms and reboot computer. Then it would go again. We just updated software to the latest. I saw this morning it hung up again so even though I was excited that it might be solved it still hangs.

Hello Curtis!

If the progress is stuck new ones won't be started. You can set the progress manually though.

This KB is for another problem, but the solution there can be applied to a stuck activity as well: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60653
