Cannot VM conversion Settings

Thread needs solution

Renewed our hosts in a DR environment, new hosts have new IP's.

Trying to change a backup job which converts to a VM, job errors when editing the Conversion to VM settings which is to be expected as assigned host no longer exists but it won't let me select one of the new hosts?

When you view Devices > VMware, cluster shows both the new and old hosts.

I have uninstalled the agent on the windows machine being used and re-installed but still getting the same result?

Any one have any ideas?

Dear IT Support,

Could you explain exactly what you mean by "but it won't let me select one of the new hosts"?

When you edit the Conversion to VM plan, you should click on HOST and then a new panel opens, which says "Select target host", with a list of your hosts / clusters underneath. Do you mean that your new hosts are absent from this list?

Also, as far as I understand, you are using a Windows Agent for VMware, correct? And it is connected to your vCenter? Are there multiple Agents for VMware in your environment or just this one? Perhaps there is an old (offline) Agent for VMware registered in this tenant, which you could try removing (in SETTINGS -> Agents)?

When I click on Hosts to try and select a new host nothing shows up in the list so you cannot select anything.

However when you view the cluster under Devices > VMware it shows the new 3 hosts but it also still shows the old 3 hosts as well.

Yes using a windows agent which is installed on a VM in the DR cluster and set to use the vcenter located in the DR site, no other agents are installed.
