Can't Enable Exchange Backups
I'm trying to enable application backup for an Exchange 2019 server. This server is a VM on ESXI 6.7 U3. Acronis is running as a virtual appliance on the same host and is running version 12.5, licensed for Advanced. When it asks for a username and password though it doesn't accept any of the ones that I use. I have two domain admin accounts, the built in one, and a separately created one. I've tried both of these along with the local administrator on the mail server. I've also made sure that both domain admin users were added to the local administrators group on the server.
I've tried the users in the following formats:
user
DOMAIN\user
user@domain
But no matter what user or format I use I always get this error message:
"The specified user does not have enough rights to create an application-aware backup. Either the credentials are incorrect, or User Account Control is enabled in the guest system and this user is not an administrator."
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Mr Lizard!
There's no point in bumping as this is already the newest thread and we don't have a lot of new ones anyway.
If it's urgent and you have valid maintenance you should contact support directly instead.
For application aware backups I think you need an account that's both an administrator on the machine the application is running on as well as within the application. But I guess the domain admin is also an exchange admin?

Hello. Understood, thank you, I assumed my reply had been lost at the bottom of the stack as thats usually what happens when I don't get a reply on a forum for over 24 hours.
Yes the account is a domain administrator, its added to the local administrators group on the Exchange server, and it has the organization management role assigned to it in Exchange.

Can you make a backup of the VM with and without application awareness? Or these fail the same as the exchange backup?

The backup works fine without application awareness, its only when I try to turn on the Exchange backup that it fails.

Hello Mr Lizard,
please check out the following resources
4459: Acronis Backup: Required User Permissions for Local and Remote Management
Note:
Additional requirement for virtual machines
If the application runs on a virtual machine that is backed up by Agent for VMware, ensure that User Account Control (UAC) is disabled on the machine. If you do not want to disable UAC, you must provide the credentials of a built-in domain administrator (DOMAIN\Administrator) when enabling application backup.

Hello, I have tried the following combinations with no success.
1. Disabled UAC and used domain admin (ensured it is a member of the the groups and is assigned the roles specified in the first link)
2. Disabled UAC and used local admin on exchange server
3. Enabled UAC and used domain admin
4. Enabled UAC and used local admin
Regarding the second article I don't have the Acronis Remote Users group on there. I have not installed any agent on Windows, I'm using the Agent for VMware to backup the VM's.
