CyberBackup 12.5 Applying default setting to an existing backup plan

Thread needs solution

I have multiple existing backup plans in Backup 12.5. I go to the default backup settings and they do not seem to apply to existing backups. Also, there does not appear to be an option to "reset to default" as in previous versions. I aso tried downloading V15 and saw the same thing. I also tried cloning a backup and it coppied the setting across, (to be honest, I did expect this, just wanted to explore all options before seeking support).

Does anyone know how to set plans to the supposedly default backup settings?

Hello Robert!

This doesn't appear to be possible. The user guide explicitly says the defaults will be applied to newly created plans. You could promote this as a feature request.

If there's a lot of changes to carry over I'd export a default and a to-be-changed plan and diff them as text files to help with modification.

Yup, that kinda where I got to. Thanks for the conformation. I've been using Acronis since about 2004 and am constantly frustrated by features that go missing in "updates" as well as inability to trace error messages and/or total lack of appropriate error messages, especially with tape backups, (I couldn't count the amount of times a tape has ejected from various drives and the only error I get is no available media). And I find the latest web based console incredibly frustrating, in the lack of ability to directly control an agent.
