Had to reinstall Cyber Backup 12.5, now can't use universal licence to backup VMs

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

My backup server sh!t itself and I had to reinstall Cyber Backup 12.5. Of course, the reseller I was getting maintenance through is a pain in the ar$e so I didn't renew last time. F&*k!! So fast forward 2 days and I still cannot get backups for VMs from the Hypver-V server to work. Any time I select a type of data it tells me I need a new licence, even though there is a perpetual universal licence applied to that server. I have a trial from a different product running for now, (Altaro), but that wont last long. Not sure if it's important, but the VMs are all listed in the wrong group within Hypver-V, although they have the correct "agent" listed against them. I vaguely remember how much of a pain in the ar$e this was to change over from 11.7 the first time, (if it would still work I would go back to that). I just can't recall what the fix was.

Any help welcome. :)

Rob.

Hello Rob,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

If this issue still persists, please share with us screenshots showing the step where the error message occurs and how your licenses are assigned (please hide the exact serial numbers and machine names).

Hi, I could not wait, so removed 12.5 and went back to 11.7. This is a production setup so more than one day without backup is not OK.

I had my Backup 12.5 Standard licence applied to the SBS2011, and Backup 12.5 Advanced licence applied to a Hyper-V 2019 server.

Rob.
