Odd/even week schedule
Hello
we had a customer with Acronis 11.5 and a odd/even week backup. Customer has upgraded systems and bought new liicense of Acronis 12.5. I can't find where and how to set the same schedule.
If it's not clear:
- odd week: backup on destination X
- even week: backup on destination Y
with Acronis 11.5 it was done by having a weekly schedule repeated every 2 weeks.

I did not see this possibility because I did not select full backup option since our customer was doing differential backups.
This is very unsatisfying. Doing a full backup means either that not every day would be covered by the backup or that a huge amount of backup space would be needed - something we did not count on, believing that a newer version could not do less than the previous version published seven years before.
So unless I am mistaken we are stuck with a software that is not doing what could be expected and backup disks that are far too small.

To help you reimplement your backup scheme in 12.5 can you clarify a few things first?
- From your posts it's not clear to me what your bacup requirements are. You said you need a weekly backup where odd and even week backups go in separate locations. However you also say that "that not every day would be covered by the backup". This tells me you need a daily backup, is this right?
- Which backups were the differentials differential to
- For storage space considerations can you provide your retention scheme?
I attached an extension to Maria's suggestion where you get daily differentials to a biweekly full.

although the post is a bit older, I do not believe that the solution is what the customer required.
I got the same problem trying to perform a workaround, in which I want to perform daily replications to two daily tape pools, swap those weekly and delete the content of the other pool each second week (can this be done with acrocmd or with a schedule within Acronis somehow?) to avoid those content errors like cache miss which are coming up regularly and require deletion of the content from the tape pool whenever those errors happen.
Planning based on days of a month does not give odd/even weeks - this will be messed up as soon, as the fifth + first week mix of a month comes into play. What is required is a schedule saying odd week of the year as of week 01 in Outlook calender, followed by week 02 and so on.
