PC is removed from management server when adding another, specific PC

Thread needs solution

So I have 2 PC's.

if PC1 is registered and I attempt to register PC2. PC1 is removed/'overwritten' on the management interface.

If I do the same in reverse and attempt to register PC1 while PC2 is registered. PC2 is removed.

Both PC's have different Hostnames are online at the same time. I've attempted to remove Acronis products from them both completely as well and try again. But the same thing happens. I suspect one of the PC's were previously cloned from another at some point in time

OS is Windows 7 (I know) and re-installation of the OS or migration to Windows 10 isn't an option

Anybody have any idea if there is some slightly obscure identifier Acronis uses inside of Windows to register the device and could be the same across them causing this issue?

Thanks

Hello Jordan!

I had this issue with computers that were cloned and then renamed later. The issue is that the acronis agents store a GUID in registry which also get cloned with the rest of the registry hive. Uninstall will not touch this and leave it there.

The solution is to uninstall and then delete the registry keys manually. Probably from both hosts just to be sure.

I usually delete everything under this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\Settings\MachineManager
