acrocmd - Some characters not allowed in passwords?
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding acrocmd - I have a problem with backing up via acrocmd when using credentials for one specific account. (works with other)
This account is both Acronis and server (where the backup should be saved) administrator, has full access to the backup location, no restrictions at all.
I'm able to log in with this account to the server itself, to Acronis console, browse backups etc., but when using this account for creating a backup, I always get "Failed to connect to the storage node." and "The user name or password is incorrect".
But I'm 100% sure that both user name and password ARE correct. Since this account's password was generated automatically following our internal policies, it has some special characters and perhaps some of them can't be used with acrocmd?
It's not so simple to change the password for this account, so before I do so, I would like to make sure that the password really is the problem.
Is there a list of characters that can't be used with acrocmd? I'm using this password inside brackets, of course.
--credentials="username","password"
Thank you
Lukas

Hello Peter,
the order of parameters is
acrocmd backup disk --volume --backuptype --use_vss --loc --credentials --arc
The command works just fine with different user account (that has the same permissions), so that's why I think that problem is in the password.
There are unfortunately characters like = , ` , [ .. in it, which is stupid, but it's just how it is and there's high chance some of them will appear even in the new generated password as well (if I request it), so I would like to know what characters to avoid.
I think I've seen such list (with characters that are not allowed in variables for acrocmd) some time ago, but can't find it now :-/

Ha, found it! It's in KB for old Acronis B&R 10, but obviously it's still valid for v12.5 - https://kb.acronis.com/content/15828
Nevermind then, problem really is in special characters used in the password.
Thank you anyway, Peter
